What should I know to enter the Tulum Archaeological Zone?

As of today (May 2024) the area is open everyday from 9am to 5pm but the last time to access is 3:30pm. The entrance fee is $95.00 pesos. The archaeological zone is about one mile walking distance from the parking lot, there is a small truck (Train) that moves people from that area to the Archaeological Zone and the cost of this transportation is $75.00 pesos.

There is an extra charge entering video camera to the ruins. You are not allowed to introduce large back packs and meals.

Where can I exchange money in Tulum

Best way to exchange money is either at the Airport upon your arrival to our country or at your Hotel. If you can get this options, go to a Bank or Money Exchange Tenders. Distrust ATM Machines on the street and take chances only at a big stores or establishments. There are several Money Exchange Tenders as well as ATM machines down town, however, US Cash is accepted almost everywhere. Just keep in mind to have small bills or change will be given in pesos at a very low rate of exchange. US Coins are not accepted anywhere.
