Best way to exchange money is either at the Airport upon your arrival to our country or at your Hotel. If you can get this options, go to a Bank or Money Exchange Tenders.

Akumal is a small community still in development touristically, so, you may not find here many options to exchange money. Distrust ATM Machines on the street and take chances only at a big stores or establishments. Traveler’s checks are the great way to carry money to Mexico, however, they are not accepted in all the Money Exchange Tenders and not accepted by some of the banks.  Cash US is accepted almost everywhere. Just keep in mind to have small bills or change will be given in pesos at a very low rate of exchange. US Coins are not accepted anywhere.
